Stuart is a qualified teacher and set up PrimeVR in 2017 after finishing on the Google Expeditions Pioneer Programme. Since starting PrimeVR, Stuart has been into over 100 schools across the country delivering VR workshops across KS2 and KS3.
“I love seeing and hearing the awe and wonder that VR creates in the classroom. It really helps to bring a topic to life and immerse pupils in a different world”.
Tom is a serial entrepreneur and loves all things digital. After seeing the potential of VR in the classroom, Tom jumped at the opportunity to help Stuart set up PrimeVR. Tom is responsible for maintaining this slick website and ensuring people can find us on online.
“I wish VR was around when I was at school. It’s difficult for children to understand something when they’ve no idea or experience of a topic. I think VR is a great way of overcoming this"
Matt is an experienced primary school teacher and Computing subject lead who has always been interested in finding new and innovative ways for engaging pupils in their learning. He joined the PrimeVR team in 2018 after seeing the positive impact VR can have in the classroom.
"After hearing the 'wow's from pupils when they look into the headsets, I knew the potential virtual reality could have to ignite pupils' curiosity like nothing I had experienced before in the classroom. From that moment, I knew I had to join the team and spread that awe and wonder to other schools."
Oliver is a qualified primary school teacher and has experience of teaching across all of KS2. After completing his PGCE course at Bath Spa University, Oliver worked in a number of schools across the North West. He is passionate about delivering engaging and practical lessons that help to bring the curriculum to life.
"I've been teaching for over five years and I've never seen technology deliver the level of engagement that virtual reality does. It really helps to bring a topic to life and inspire pupils with their writing"
Jon joined Prime VR in 2020 following a long career in business, including running training and development workshops in schools, local authorities and social services. Jon has a wealth of knowledge and experience across many areas and brings his enthusiasm and sense of fun to Prime VR workshops.
“There is little that is more rewarding than seeing the excitement and passion for learning in children when experiencing a subject through VR”
Andy is a student teacher undergoing a BA Hons in Primary Education. A major interest of his is rugby, in which he plays to a good level and coaches young players in his spare time. Since joining PrimeVR, Andy has visited a large number of schools gaining essential experience in his journey to becoming a qualified teacher.
“After being involved in a VR workshop day, I was taken back by how engaging and immersive the technology was for the children. I knew straight away I wanted to be involved if I could and it would be great experience alongside my degree – just wish this way of learning was around when I was at school!”
Katie is very passionate about making learning fun for children. With her experiences of running a local Beaver colony in her community and parenting her own three children she has seen a need to make learning as fun and engaging as possible.
“I love working with children in the workshops, the excitement is a delight to see. This is the best kind of learning; when the children do not even realise that they are doing it!”
